How long does teeth whitening last?

Your brighter smile lasts 4-12 months, depending on how well you take care of your teeth. Drinking coffee, tea, and cola stains your teeth and shortens the lifespan of the whitening. You should also maintain good dental hygiene; brushing and flossing regularly will keep your teeth white the longest.

How is teeth whitening accomplished?

If your provider agrees that you are a candidate for teeth whitening, you can choose either an over-the-counter teeth whitening kit or a dentist-supervised treatment.

Over-the-counter

Whitening kits, toothpastes, and paint-on gels are available at most drugstores. Only use one approved by the American Dental Association. These products contain limited amounts of whitening ingredients and may give you only very mild whitening effects.

Dentist-supervised take-home whitening kits

The kits, by Zoom! or Opalescence®, have a high concentration of active ingredients that pass into your teeth to oxidize the discolored molecules, removing stains and whitening your smile.

The whitening gel is delivered through wearable trays that are fitted to your smile and stay in place. You use them at home for a directed period of time each day to see results after a few weeks. This is our limited time, promotional special and cannot be combined with any other special offers.

In-office whitening

In-office whitening offers near immediate results when it comes to brightening your smile. Esthetic Partners Dental Group uses the Zoom! System that whitens your teeth up to eight shades. When you come in for your appointment, the technician prepares your mouth by covering your lips and gums so only your teeth are exposed. They then apply the professional-strength whitening gel to your teeth.

The specialized Zoom! Blue light shines on your mouth as you sit for about 15 minutes to help the gel penetrate and whiten your teeth. During this time you relax, watch TV, or listen to music.

Three sessions are recommended for the best results.
